Community Involvement
Supporting the Communities We Serve
Community involvement is a part of what we do at Sharp General Contractors. We have supported non-profits providing services to individuals and families going through cancer treatments for years, as well as organizations united in the fight against cancer. We also contribite to non-profits supporting children's causes. Here are some of the organizations we've supported:
Gilda's Club South Florida
Gilda’s Club South Florida offers free professionally-led support groups, healthy lifestyle activities, workshops and lectures, social events, and resources for men, women, and children whose lives have been impacted by cancer.
A Kid's Place of Tampa Bay
A Kid’s Place has five homes on an expansive tree-lined campus that provide a safe, home-like environment in a neighborhood setting for foster children.
The Center for Family & Child Enrichment
The Center for Family and Child Enrichment is a private, nonprofit, community-based organization that serves:
- Children who have been abused, neglected and/or abandoned;
- Children with severe emotional disturbances and in need of mental health care;
- Children in the custody of parents or relatives who are chronic runaways and/or are ungovernable
Lekotek of Georgia
Lekotek of Georgia's mission is to facilitate the inclusion of children with disabilities into their families, schools and communities by providing accessible play, adapted toys, technology, information and resources.
Lekotek Makes a Difference by:
- Encouraging development through exploration and discovery.
- Helping children and families play and learn together.
- Providing failure-free learning and builds a child’s self esteem.
- Staff members demonstrating new and creative ways to make play successful and interactive.
- Loaning adapted and traditional toys for families to use at home.
- Providing individualized support and resources to all family members to strengthen families.
- Helping children and families participate in community events and feel less isolated.
