• Qualifications for Site Superintendent Five (5) years of experience in commercial construction with at least one (1) previous Project Superintendent role

• High school graduation or equivalent

• Vocational course work in the area of construction project coordination, building construction or closely related field:

• Knowledge of electrical, mechanical and structural systems

• Knowledge of building materials, tools and machines

• Knowledge of building material costs and wages

• Ability to read blueprints and specifications for building

• Must have specific knowledge of field supervision for layout, framing, MEP and finish trades

• Professional knowledge of drywall, paint and other finish trades relative to construction quality

• A thorough knowledge of federal, state and local building codes

• Proven track record of safety in conjunction with all OSHA requirements and guidelines

• Excellent organizational and leadership skills with a commitment to safety

• Must have a professional attitude and outstanding communication skills with the ability to maintain excellent relationships with inspectors, subcontractors, architects and clients

• Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment

• Supervisory ability

• Computer and writing skills

• Able to travel 40-60% of the time

• Possess a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

• Pre-employment drug screening is required

Responsibilities

• The successful candidate will be responsible for all field operations and overseeing subcontractors at the project site(s)

• The Project Superintendent will closely work in direct cooperation with the Project Manager and other team members on the job site to achieve a successful project

• The successful candidate will plan and supervise a wide range of construction projects from start to finish, ensuring that each is properly organized and completed in a timely and efficient manner

• Job Responsibilities Have a strong knowledge of project blueprints and specifications to ensure that construction is compliant

• Determine, organize and coordinate all construction field activities and priorities among subcontractors and other individuals/companies involved with the project

• Supervise project safety and ensure all workers on site are complying with safety requirements and the project safety plan

• Assess daily staffing of subcontractors and field workforce

• Assess sufficient supply of materials and equipment on a daily basis

• Track deliveries of materials from vendors to avoid delays and onsite material loss

• Participate in developing the project schedule and provide the information needed to create, monitor, and modify the project schedule on a continuing basis

• Coordinate with the Project Manager to develop and administer the safety plan and security arrangements necessary for the project

• Maintain daily progress reports and conduct weekly job site safety meetings

• Monitor actual versus required performance by all parties and determine whether subcontractors are providing a sufficient workforce and hours of work to achieve performance commitments

• Maintain thorough familiarity with the requirements of the general contract and ensure that the requirements are being adhered to

• Ensure fieldwork is performed with a high standard of quality and in an efficient manner

• Coordinate new construction and major remodeling, which involves scheduling meetings and reviewing project documents (e

• Exercise control over rate of construction progress in order to complete construction project within time limits, schedules jobs and operations

• Estimate materials needed for specific jobs; estimates manpower needed for specific jobs

• Act as an adviser on job related matters

• Work in collaboration with all parties requesting information or services

• Perform other related duties as assigned

• Hands-on; willing to jump in and help move project along, willing to handle tools

• Comply with daily reporting requirements of job site conditions, schedules, manpower impacting the project in project management software
